Luke's First Baseball Game of the Season - Yankees vs Cubs

We had Luke's first baseball game of the year today, Yankees vs Cubs. T-ball is go funny, they let everyone get a turn up at bat and then switch to the outfield and it lasts only 2 innings. To be honest with you I think that's all the kids have attention for anyway. Luke did an awesome job. In the outfield he got to play left field and short stop, when he was paying attention:)

You will have to ignore my cheering. I was just being a proud Mama!

Race for the Cure

I participated in the Race for the Cure this year to walk in support of My Aunt Phyllis. A wonderful women who has become a huge part of my life since my Mom died. My neighbor and good friend Kris walked with me. Kris was walking in support of her Mom. The Denver Race is the largest in the nation. This year more the 64,000 participated. It took us a 1/2 hr to just to walk to the starting line and another hour & half to finish the 3 mile walk. We were walking in the middle of the all those peoples. We couldn't see the beginning and we couldn't see the end. If you check out the photo on the right there are people on the bridge and walking in front of us. It was an amazing experience that I can't seem to find the right words to describe. With your help I was able to raise over $600 and the entire Denver Race raised 2.4 million dollars! I would like to send a very special thank you for all those who made contributions. The shirt I'm wearing is from Shad's cousin Nicole. She is the founder of Charity Tees. Nicole started Charity Tees in memory of her mother, MaryKay. Nicole is an inspiration to us all. Check out her website at www.charitytees.com.
Thank you!

HALLOWEEN

We had the best weather last night for trick or treating. No mittens and hats! It was about 60 deg. It just didn't seem like Halloween without the cold weather. The kids had a blast. Drew was a dragon and Luke was a Clone Trooper. We went trick or treating with our neighbors Kris & Little Vern and Bobbie and Brynn. It just so happens that Little Vern was a Clone Trooper too. Brynn was the cutest little Minnie Mouse. Drew got the hang of trick or treating pretty quick. By the 3rd house he was the one knocking on the doors. Too bad he's not getting any of the candy.

We've had visitors twice now!

I can't tell you how excited I am. We have had visitors twice now this summer. It's awesome. My good friends Angie and Dante paid us a visit all the way from Oklahoma City. It was so good to see them. They want to Kent State with Shad and I. It's been way too long since we have seen them. Angie and Dante were in Colorado on a family vacation and made a trip down from the Mountains to have dinner with us. 4 hours was just not long enough to get caught up. They have talked us into driving to Oklahoma City next summer. (Jeanne - You guys are coming too!)

Now this weekend, Shad's cousin Nicole and her husband Adam are in town. I would love to say that they came all the way from Phoenix to visit us but we know that's not the case. We are all going to the first annual Mile High Music Festival today!!!!! (It was hard for us to find a babysitter for 12 hours, now if Grandma was here we'd have no issues and save a lot of $.) Nicole and Adam got here on Thursday night and are staying till Tuesday. I actually talked Shad into taking Monday off of work. About time.

More visitors are welcome!

Our baby's 1st Brithday

(Ignore my beautiful singing)

happy 1st birthday drew!

It's hard to believe that it has been a year. Our baby is 1. We decided to postpone Drew's birthday party till next weekend. So today it was just the 4 of us. Nice and quiet. Drew had an eventful day. We bought Drew a little pool, thinking that he would love it, yeh not so much. He wanted nothing to do with it. He wouldn't even let me put his feet in. After cake, Luke and Drew were playing and of course Luke got too rough and I think you can guess what happened next. So after we got Drew calmed down he fell off the deck and cut his head. More screaming! Off to the bathtub to settle down. Well..... he decided to poop in the bathtub. Yeh that's not nice. What an evening. Drew loves to play outside (he must be a Parrish) and Daddy has now decided that Drew has had enough of the outdoors. It means more crying for me. Happy Birthday Drew.

It's been a crazy summer already!

We have been insanely busy. I wish that life would slow down. It all started after I made my first post. I was off of work that week. Enjoying time home with the boys. My week off started with Mother's Day and ended with the stomach flu. On Saturday, may 17th we had a BBQ at our house for my birthday. That morning Drew woke up throwing up. I thought it was his teeth because he was cutting 2 top teeth. Little did I know.... On Sunday Luke and I were sick all day. We never got off the couch. And Monday we were all home sick. We began the week from hell. We went back to work on Tuesday and Wednesday thinking everything was normal. Well, we succeeded in getting the babysitter sick and she never gets sick. So we worked from home on Thursday. Then Friday Drew decided to stop eating so we were off to the pediatrician. I guess it takes their little tummies longer to recover from the flu. He got better over the weekend. We were thankful that week was over. But Oh No, it wasn't over. Luke got sick again the following Thursday with the flu. And guess what, Drew followed in his brother's shoes. He was sick this past Saturday and boy was his miserable (so was my back from holding him all day.) We are hoping that this week is much better.
Luke is taking swimming lessons on Saturday. That kid has no fear. This coming Saturday he starts hockey lessons. Let me tell you... He is sooooo excited. I fear that this is the beginning of running my children all over town. It's just like when your child takes their first steps. You are excited but at the same time you dread what it means.
And it's only the beginning of June.

May trip to the Denver Zoo

We made our annual trip to the zoo a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon. With Luke's fabulous attention span we made it through the zoo in 2 hours. We spent the longest amount of time checking out the polar bears. One polar bear was kind enough to rub his behind on the glass right in front of us. I think he was trying to tell us something. I think that Luke was more excited about riding the train than he was to see the animals. Grandma bought the boys these shirts. Don't they look cute.
